Alright, I'm trying to finish up something I started two years ago and had to leave sitting until now...I pulled the engine two years ago to replace one of the turbos, I did a full 120k kit and all possible deletes..I ran into a few problems and ended up having to leave it alone for awhile...It's a 93 TT auto, I planned on doing a 5 speed swap, so I went ahead and replaced the EFI harness with a 5speed harness since I needed a new harness anyways, the car is still currently an auto (I will proceed to do the swap once I get it to at least start)..My first problem was every time I hooked the battery up, every time it would spark really badly and blow the fusible link..It wouldn't blow it until I hooked the wire on the back of the alternator onto the stud..Is there supposed to be a grommet or something of some sort on the back of the stud? or does it just connect straight to the casing of the alternator? I put a rubber grommet behind it and the sparking has currently stopped, but I'm not sure if that's a full time fix.. Second problem I'm having is the car has no spark...it has no power going to the coils at all..I've tested the PTU, CAS and ECU, they all appear to be working fine...I've tried jumping the relay as well and trying to force it to start, and that failed as well...Is it possible the 5speed harness isn't compatible, and could be causing the problem? Like I said I planned on doing the swap at the same time, but ended up throwing the auto back in there just to see if I could get her to fire up..
